The Pervasive and Global Computing Group

The Pervasive and Global Computing Group was established in July 2000 when Professor Paddy Nixon took up a chair in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. Within these pages you will find pointers to research related to Pervasive and Global Computing. The group considers the potential created by the combination of the advances in wireless networking and mobile devices, resulting in a highly available global network of inexpensive devices radically different from the traditional 'computer'. The focus of the group is on underlying systems infrastructure for pervasive and global systems. This includes theoretical and structured approaches for distributed system construction, dynamic adaption and composition of distributed systems and context dependant dynamic behaviour.
